Gloria Blondell, the lesser-known sister of the renowned actress Joan Blondell, carved out a notable career in Hollywood, appearing in approximately two dozen feature films. Her journey in the entertainment industry began on the Broadway stage, making her debut in the 1935 production of "Three Men on a Horse". She soon transitioned to the silver screen, making her cinematic debut in "The Daredevil Drivers" (1938).
Gloria's early film credits include co-starring alongside Ronald Reagan in "Accidents Will Happen" (1938). However, it was her work as the voice of Disney's beloved character, 'Daisy Duck', that occupied most of her time in the 1940s. With the advent of television, Gloria remained busy, appearing in popular shows such as "I Love Lucy" (1951),"Thriller" (1960),and other notable programs.
During the mid-1950s, Gloria landed the recurring role of 'Honeybee Gillis' on the television series "The Life of Riley" (1953). Her subsequent turn as 'Gloria' in the sitcom "Calvin and the Colonel" (1961-1962) marked the culmination of her acting career. After retiring in Los Angeles, Gloria Blondell sadly passed away due to cancer.
