Gordon Yang's life journey began in Hong Kong, where he spent his early childhood before relocating to Belgium. His formative years were then shaped in Toronto, Canada, where he spent his high school years in Los Angeles, only to return to Canada and pursue a different path, enrolling in Architecture School before switching gears to attend Film School at York University in Toronto.
Throughout his illustrious career spanning over two decades, Gordon Yang has worked on numerous film and television projects across Canada, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Africa, demonstrating his versatility and expertise in various aspects of production, including assistant directing, production management, second unit directing, and producing.
Yang has had the privilege of collaborating with prominent television networks and motion picture studios in the US and Canada on projects such as "To Die For", directed by Gus Van Sant; "This is My Life", directed by Nora Ephron; "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge", directed by James Ivory; and "Where The Heart Is", directed by John Boorman.
Gordon Yang's impressive accolades include winning the Director's Guild of Canada Outstanding Achievement Award in 2002 for the Disney film, "The Famous Jett Jackson", and again in 2005 for the feature film, "St. Ralph". In 2003, as the Production Supervisor and 2nd Unit Director for the CBS mini-series, "Hitler's Rise of Evil", the project earned a nomination for 7 Emmy Awards.
In his capacity as a Producer over the past six years, Gordon Yang has brought to life films such as "Dear Mr. Gacy", "Screamers 2", "Kaw", "Earthstorm", and "Saint Ralph".
