Greg Gagne, the son of the illustrious amateur and professional wrestler Verne Gagne, went on to forge a remarkable career in the professional wrestling world. While he may not have achieved the same level of success as his father, who was a heavyweight champion, Gagne still managed to make a significant impact in the sport. He was a two-time American Wrestling Association (AWA) tag-team champion, partnering with the talented "Jumping" Jim Brunzell. The duo, known as the "High Flyers," dominated the AWA tag-team title in the late 1970s and early 1980s, defeating several teams, including one led by the now Minnesota Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura.
Throughout his career, Gagne had several opportunities to challenge AWA Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel for the title, but unfortunately, he was unable to emerge victorious. Despite this, Gagne remained a formidable force in the AWA, earning the respect of his peers and fans alike. Eventually, Gagne decided to hang up his wrestling boots in the early 1990s, shortly after the demise of the AWA.
