Greg Hurd is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of accomplishments in the film, television, and corporate production industries.
As a co-writer and co-producer, Hurd is currently working on the feature film BunkerHill, which is currently in post-production.
Hurd has also collaborated with Kevin Willmott to write A Love Supreme, an interracial love story set in contemporary Kansas City, which is set against the looming specter of war.
As an independent producer and writer, Hurd has produced the stage play "Now Let Me Fly" by Marcia Cebulska, starring James McDaniel, at the Gem Theater in Kansas City. He has also written the stage play The Healing Visions of Arthur Ames, which premiered in Los Angeles in the 1990s.
In addition to his work in film and theater, Hurd has also been involved in producing corporate and non-profit films and videos through his production company, Grandview Productions.
As a television producer, writer, and host, Hurd has won numerous awards, including Telly, Midi, and Mature Media awards, and has credits in over 1,200 talk shows, documentaries, and specials.
Hurd currently produces and hosts River City Weekly, a show that has surpassed 250 episodes and airs in Kansas in the greater Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan, and Emporia markets.
He has also produced and written weekly features appearing in The Lawrence Journal-World as well as on 6News and the World Online at www.ljworld.com.
Born and raised in greater Kansas City, Hurd attended the University of Kansas, where he received his BA in English literature and creative writing. He then attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, where he received his Master of Divinity in 1993.
Hurd is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and currently resides in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife Genna, who is the mother of his three step-children.
