Biography

Gunther Hauk, a seasoned professional with over three and a half decades of experience, has worn many hats throughout his illustrious career.

As a teacher, he has had the opportunity to share his knowledge with countless individuals, fostering a sense of growth and understanding.

As a lecturer, he has taken his expertise to the stage, captivating audiences with his insights and perspectives.

As a biodynamic gardener, he has cultivated a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature and the importance of sustainable practices.

And as a beekeeper, he has dedicated himself to the preservation and protection of these vital pollinators.

In 1996, Gunther co-founded the Pfeiffer Center in Chestnut Ridge, New York, a hub for biodynamic research and education.

Later, in 2006, he and his wife Vivian established Spikenard Farm, Inc., a non-profit honeybee sanctuary in Chestnut Ridge, New York.

Throughout his career, Gunther has traveled extensively, sharing his knowledge and expertise with audiences in the United States and Canada.

He has given numerous workshops on the successful application of biodynamic principles in gardening and harmonious beekeeping methods.

In his book, Toward Saving the Honeybee, published in 2002, Gunther calls for a radical shift away from conventional beekeeping practices.

Today, the Spikenard Honeybee Sanctuary is located in Floyd, Virginia, where Gunther continues to work tirelessly towards the preservation of these precious pollinators.
