Born in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, Gustavo Alejandro Giannini embarked on a creative journey in the late 1980s, crafting short films using S-8 technology. He then pursued higher education in film and screenwriting at CIEVYC, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
Upon graduation, Giannini wrote and directed "InEx, the shadow of truth," a thought-provoking science fiction television movie. In 2005, he made history by producing the world's first CGI 3D animation feature film using open-source software, titled "Plumíferos" (later released as "Birds of Paradise" by Lionsgate in 2014). Giannini took on multiple roles, serving as Executive Producer, Co-Director, and Editor for this groundbreaking project.
In 2010, Giannini established his own label, "The Hombre Orquesta," allowing him to independently produce and distribute his own fiction and low-budget films with commercial potential. One of his most notable projects was "5-5-5," an apocalyptic thriller inspired by the premonitions of the renowned plastic artist Benjamín Solari Parravicini. This gripping film went on to win numerous accolades, including Best Foreign Film at the 2012 Orlando International Film Festival in Florida, USA.
Giannini's mastery of his craft was further recognized at the 2016 Mar Del Plata International Fantastic Film Festival, where "5-5-5" took home an impressive five awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, and Best Art, as voted by both the jury and the press.
