Born in 1972, Guy Burt is a BAFTA award-winning screenwriter and novelist, whose creative journey began at a remarkably young age. At just 18 years old, he penned his first novel, "After the Hole", showcasing his exceptional writing skills from the very start.
Following his literary debut, Burt went on to read English Literature at Oxford University, where he honed his academic skills. After completing his studies, he spent five years teaching, further developing his ability to communicate complex ideas and theories.
However, his passion for writing ultimately led him to make the transition to full-time writing, a decision that was precipitated by the successful adaptation of "After the Hole" into a feature film.
Burt has since authored two other novels, "Sophie" and "The Dandelion Clock", which have garnered significant attention and acclaim. Moreover, he has been actively involved in the film and television industry since 1999, bringing his unique storytelling style to a wide range of projects.
In 2015, his exceptional work in the drama "Harriet's Army" earned him a prestigious Best Writer BAFTA award, a testament to his dedication and skill.
In his personal life, Burt is married to Chon Tejedor, a Philosophy lecturer, with whom he shares a deep appreciation for knowledge, creativity, and intellectual pursuits.
