Born in Manhattan to an American father and an English mother, Guy was educated in England and honed his craft at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy in London, where he won the esteemed Rodney Millington Award for his outstanding performance as The Emcee in Cabaret. With a career spanning over five decades, Guy has become a household name in the United Kingdom, both on stage and screen.
Throughout his illustrious career, Guy has effortlessly juggled his roles as actor and writer/producer, collaborating with his producing partner David Mansell to establish the successful production company Einstein Films, with several movies currently in development.
Guy made his London stage debut in the critically acclaimed production Cowardy Custard at the Mermaid Theatre, followed by a range of notable credits, including Off the Peg, Nickleby and Me, Toad of Toad Hall, The Frogs, Wealth, The Biograph Girl, and Don't Dress for Dinner. Guy has also enjoyed a successful career in television, with notable credits including I Claudius, Dr. Who, Life at Stake, Z Cars, Softly Softly, The Secret Army, You Rang M'Lord?, The Brittas Empire, Doctors, and, of course, 'Allo 'Allo! In addition, he has appeared in a range of American television shows, including Seinfeld, Martial Law, Diagnosis Murder, Zoe, Babylon 5, When Billie Beat Bobbie, That's My Bush, The Agency, and Startrek: Enterprise.
