Hailie Sahar is a multifaceted individual, boasting a plethora of talents that have earned her widespread recognition and accolades. She is an accomplished Actor, Producer, Director, Singer, and Writer, with a career spanning various mediums.
As one of the five transgender lead actors in Ryan Murphy's groundbreaking FX series, Pose, Sahar made history by starring as Lulu, the Mother of the House of Ferocity. The ensemble received global recognition and numerous awards, including several Emmy Awards, during its successful three-season run.
Sahar has been featured in prominent publications worldwide, including Vogue, Essence, Variety, Allure, and OUT Magazine. In 2020, she was named one of the "Most Beautiful People" by People Magazine, a distinction shared by only a handful of trans women, including herself, who was highlighted by Playboy Magazine.
Her film credits include HBO Max's original docu-series, Equal, where she portrayed community pioneer Sylvia Rivera, as well as roles in Freeform's Good Trouble, Amazon Studio's Transparent, USA's Mr. Robot, and the off-Broadway production, Charm, at New York City's MMC Theater. Sahar also Executively Produced and Co-Directed the PAFF recognized documentary, Beyond Ed Buck, which debuted in 2022.
In the fall of 2020, Deadline announced Sahar's collaboration with Emmy Award-winning Director, Anthony Hemmingway, on the Sir Lady Java biopic. She is set to Executively Produce and star as the trailblazing Los Angeles icon.
Throughout her journey, Sahar has overcome numerous challenges as a transgender woman and has been honored with several titles, including "Miss L.A. Pride" and "Queen U.S.A." She was also invited to speak on the HIV/AIDS epidemic at The Ronald Reagan International Trade Center for the 57th Presidential Advisory Council in Washington DC, and continues to contribute to The East LA Women's Center against Domestic Violence.
