Biography

Hana Moon's life journey began in Busan, South Korea, where she discovered her passion for singing and dancing at the tender age of three. When she was just two years old, her mother, Sangok Moon, a dedicated nurse, and her father, Yousung Moon, an art professor, made the bold decision to relocate to the United States, settling in Philadelphia to start a life new for their family. Hana, however, remained in Korea with her grandparents until her parents brought her to the US at the age of five.

From a young age, Hana's love for singing and acting was evident. At the age of nine, she stood out as the only Asian student in her school and, despite her limited English skills, won the role of Cinderella in her school musical. This experience marked the beginning of her journey as a performer and had a profound impact on her life.

Hana's artistic inclinations led her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design at Carnegie Mellon University. It was during her time at the prestigious institution that she took her first acting class as an elective in the drama department. Just a year after graduation, she left her design job in New York City to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at The Professional Actors Program at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in conjunction with the PlayMakers Repertory Company.

Under the guidance of renowned instructors, Hana honed her craft, earning her AEA and SAG union status, and eventually moved to New York in 2001 to pursue a career in professional acting. She secured agent representation with Abrams Artists Agency, with whom she remains affiliated to this day.

Throughout her career, Hana has taken on a wide range of roles, including her favorite theatrical performance as Emily in Our Town by Thornton Wilder at PlayMakers Rep. She has also made a name for herself in television, starring as Min Ji Webster in Army Wives on Lifetime, and continues to work on commercials and print projects.

Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Hana has not abandoned her love of singing and art. Since 2009, she has delved into the world of jazz, learning to play the piano and performing vocals in New York City. Her passion for art remains strong, and she has established an art studio in Soho, where she paints and is building her body of work. Her art website will be announced in the near future.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Hana is also a businesswoman, having founded her own real estate company, True Lofts New York LLC. With her multifaceted talents and entrepreneurial spirit, Hana Moon is a true renaissance woman, excelling in various fields and continuing to inspire those around her.
