Hank Cheyne, also known as Hank Cheyne Garcia, is an American actor born on August 13 in Santa Maria, California. He is best known for his roles in the daytime dramas "Sunset Beach" and "Another World".
Born Henry Edward Garcia, Hank is the youngest of three children and has a mixed heritage, with German/Dutch and Native American/Spanish and Mexican roots on his father's side. His parents met in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he took his acting name from.
Hank attended Santa Clara University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business and played varsity baseball. He then went on to attend UCLA Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor degree. However, he decided to pursue a career in acting instead of law.
Hank's early career in acting began with a photography shoot with artist Steven Arnold, which led to him being cast in a feature editorial for GQ magazine. He went on to work with renowned fashion photographers such as Bruce Weber, Herb Ritts, and Mathew Rolston.
After graduating from law school, Hank juggled modeling and commercial work with his studies before committing to a career in acting. He moved to Europe, where he traveled extensively and lived in Italy and Tokyo before returning to the U.S.
Hank's acting career includes roles in the NBC daytime drama "Another World" and the series "Sunset Beach", which ran for three years and enjoyed cult-like status in the UK and other countries. He has also appeared in lower-budget films, television guest spots, and national commercials.
In addition to his acting career, Hank has also pursued his passion for painting, which he developed since returning to California. He has participated in solo and group shows and has had a studio space in mid-Los Angeles.
Hank is married to actress Missy Hughes, whom he met while both were cast members on "Another World".
