Haruko Sugimura, a renowned Japanese actress, entered this world on January 6, 1909, in the city of Hiroshima, which is located in the western part of Honshu, the largest island of Japan. Sugimura's remarkable acting career spanned multiple decades, during which she appeared in a plethora of films, including the iconic 1953 drama "Tokyo Story," directed by Yasujirō Ozu, as well as "A Last Note" (1995) and "Repast" (1951),both of which showcased her incredible talent and range.
