Haskiri Velázquez's journey began in Washington Heights, New York, where she developed a strong "do it myself" attitude due to limited resources. Despite these challenges, she never gave up on her passion for acting. She attended the Urban Arts Partnership's Lifestories Theater program, where she showcased her dedication and talent. Her busy schedule consisted of school days, auditions, and 6-hour theater classes on weekends, requiring a 2-hour daily subway ride.
Haskiri's early success came through her black-box productions at Theater Row in Times Square and the Lucille Lortel Theater, where she captivated audiences. She had the opportunity to be directed by notable figures like Gina Rodríguez, Jesse Williams, and Victor Maog. After graduating from the Lifestories program, she transitioned into TV and film, landing her first on-screen role as 'Tatiana García' in NYC 22.
Since then, Haskiri has appeared in numerous roles, including 'Shyvon Stevens' in Law & Order SVU, 'Charlotte' in The Birch, 'Melissa Rodríguez' in Blue Bloods, 'Rosa' in The Forty-Year-Old Version, and 'Daisy' in the Saved By The Bell reboot. She has also guest-starred in You're Not Safe Here and played 'Ava' in a 2021 Lifetime movie.
Haskiri plans to establish her own non-profit organization, aiming to inspire other Latin× to pursue their dreams, despite seeming impossibilities.
