Heidi K. Eklund's journey began with a stage presence, honing her skills in Shakespearean performances during her youthful years. In her early career, she thrived in New York City's Off Broadway theaters, primarily as an ensemble member of the esteemed Irondale Ensemble Theater, ultimately earning membership in the prestigious Actor's Equity Association. Following a five-year interlude as a skydiver in Upstate New York, Heidi transitioned to Vassar College, where she assumed the role of Casting Coordinator.
As her responsibilities evolved, Heidi recognized the need to bridge the gap between Vassar students and professional actors within the Hudson Valley community. She expanded her casting role, ultimately casting numerous short films during her decade-long tenure at Vassar. Her dedication to the craft led her to establish Hudson Valley Casting, where she has served as the casting director for a diverse array of feature films, commercials, and television projects.
Though Heidi still harbors a passion for acting, she has come to appreciate the creative fulfillment and meaningful connections that come with casting. Her love for helping others is reflected in her dedication to this field. Heidi has also pursued her interest in wellness, studying Yoga, Shiatsu, and currently training to become a well-being coach. As she looks to the future, Heidi remains content in her current role, with the promise of a potential acting comeback when she reaches the age of 60.
