Born in the Garden State of New Jersey, but her formative years were spent in the Lone Star State of Texas, where she was raised by two native New Yorkers who undoubtedly instilled in her a unique blend of East Coast charm and Southern hospitality.
As she approached adulthood, she made the bold decision to leave her Texas roots behind and make the move to the city that never sleeps - New York City - the very next day after her 18th birthday. This marked the beginning of her journey into the world of professional theater, where she would hone her craft and develop her passion for the performing arts.
Her early career saw her return to her Texas roots, where she had the privilege of performing on the esteemed stage of the Tony-Award-Winning Alley Theater. However, her insatiable thirst for new experiences and challenges soon led her to make the cross-country move to Los Angeles, a city that would ultimately become her home.
In a bold move that would test her mettle, she decided to make the trip to LA alone, despite her friend's last-minute decision to stay behind. This marked the beginning of a challenging period in her life, as she found herself struggling to make ends meet and eventually became homeless, forced to live out of her car for a period of three and a half months.
Despite these difficulties, she refused to let her circumstances define her, and instead, she persevered, using her experiences as a catalyst for growth and self-discovery. It was during this tumultuous period that she had the opportunity to work with none other than Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise, appearing in still photos for the promotional campaign of the critically acclaimed film "Magnolia."
