As a teenager, Helena discovered her love for belly dancing and began performing in Boston's vibrant nightclubs at the tender age of 16. Her talent and charisma quickly gained recognition, and she soon found herself in high demand.
In 1958, Helena left Boston and embarked on a cross-country journey, mesmerizing audiences with her enchanting belly dancing skills across the United States. Her travels took her to California, where she established herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment scene.
Helena's California stint saw her perform at The Greek Village on Hollywood Boulevard, as well as in San Francisco. She also graced the stages of Elko and Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving a lasting impression on her fans.
Beyond her impressive performing career, Helena was a multifaceted individual with a passion for teaching. She instructed folk and belly dancing at The Intersection and even owned her own private skating ring, SkateAway, and supper club, Helena's.
As she continued to grow and evolve, Helena began working with emerging artists, writers, and directors, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. In 2013, she took on the role of executive producer for the short film The Pump and the Rose, further solidifying her reputation as a talented and innovative individual.
