Henry William Lewis is a British actor and playwright born on November 21st, 1988. He co-founded Mischief Theatre, a renowned theatre company responsible for producing a wide range of successful plays and shows, including The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, Groan Ups, Magic Goes Wrong, Mind Mangler, and The Goes Wrong Show.
Lewis, along with Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, co-founded Mischief Theatre in 2008 while they were studying a drama foundation course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. In 2012, the trio co-wrote and premiered The Play That Goes Wrong at The Old Red Lion, Islington, with Lewis playing Robert Grove in both the original London cast and the original Broadway cast.
In 2013, Mischief Theatre's production of Peter Pan Goes Wrong premiered at The Pleasance Theatre, with Lewis amongst its original cast, playing the role of Robert. In 2016, their play The Comedy About a Bank Robbery opened at the Criterion Theatre, with Lewis playing Robin Freeboys.
In August 2019, Magic Goes Wrong, a play written by Lewis, Sayer, Shields, Penn and Teller, premiered at the Quays Theatre, with Lewis playing the role of Mind Mangler. The play subsequently went on tour, and in September 2019, Mischief Theatre's play Groan Ups premiered at Vaudeville Theatre, as part of a projected year-long residency at the theatre, with Lewis playing Spencer.
In addition to his work in theatre, Lewis has also ventured into the world of escape-room style puzzle games. In 2020, he launched The Mystery Agency, an escape-room style puzzle game, on Kickstarter.
In television, Lewis has appeared in several productions, including a 2016 production of Peter Pan Goes Wrong on BBC1, where he played the role of Robert. The following year, he appeared in A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong on BBC1, again playing the role of Robert. From December 2019 to November 2021, BBC1 aired twelve episodes of The Goes Wrong Show, featuring Lewis in various roles. In 2022, he began hosting Riddiculous, an ITV daytime game show, alongside Ranvir Singh, playing the role of the Riddlemaster.
