Henry Strozier is a renowned actor and narrator, boasting a distinguished career spanning over six decades. He has been a resident company member of numerous esteemed theatres across the United States, including the Asolo, Center Stage, Barter Theater, Loretto-Hilton, Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival, Missouri Rep, Milwaukee Rep, American Players Theater, Totem Pole Playhouse, and Arena Stage, where he remained for an impressive 16 years.
Throughout his illustrious career, Strozier has appeared in an astonishing 50 productions at Arena Stage, playing iconic roles such as Karl in The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Edgar in Dance of Death, Captain in The Father, Schill in The Visit, Leading Man in Six Characters in Search of an Author, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Harpagon in The Miser, Lord Summerhays in Misalliance, and Uncle Billy in A Wonderful Life.
Strozier's impressive body of work has earned him numerous accolades, including four Helen Hayes Award nominations and a win for his role as Shpigelsky in the 1995 production of Turgenev's A Month in The Country. In Chicago, he was part of the cast of The Last Meeting of The Knights of the White Magnolia, which won a Jefferson Award for Best Ensemble.
Strozier has also had a successful career in film and television, appearing in notable productions such as 13 Days, Contact, Sex in the City, Law and Order, Homicide, You Don't Know Jack, Birch Interval, Mary White, Dr. Max, Kidnapped, and Damages.
In addition to his acting career, Strozier is renowned for his work as a narrator, having been the original male voice of The Discovery Channel, as well as the narrator of two PBS series, 1900 House and Manor House, and the Animal Planet Series, Too Cute!, for which he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Strozier has also lent his voice to various projects, including movie trailers, The Smithsonian Institution, National Geographic, video games, commercials, and political spots that support Democrats. He has been reading for Recorded Books since the company's inception and has recorded over 100 books, earning several "Golden Earphones" and an Audie in 2016.
One of his most unique and memorable roles was as one of the two cranberry bog characters in the Ocean Spray commercials, a position he held for 13 years, allowing him to work with cranberry growers and stand in a cranberry bog in Rockefeller Center.
Strozier's military service includes three years in the Army, and he holds a B.A. with Honors in English from the University of Iowa.
