Person Biography:
Hiro's fascination with the world of film and television began at the tender age of 12, when he received his SAG card. By the time he turned 16, he had convinced his parents to let him finish high school early and relocate across the country to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a stuntman. Over the past 25 years, Hiro has leveraged his martial arts and motocross background to fulfill that dream.
Early Beginnings:
Hiro's introduction to the stunt industry was limited, but a visit to the set of the first Lethal Weapon in 1986, courtesy of stuntman and family friend Shane Dixon, left him hooked. He knew he had to become a stuntman.
Career Highlights:
Hiro's career began with early Roger Corman films, followed by a stint on the popular kids show Power Rangers, where he spent the next seven years honing his craft and learning the ins and outs of the stunt industry. His hard work paid off, and since then, he has worked on over 150 films and television shows, earning two Taurus World Stunt Award nominations. As a stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director, Hiro has worked on some of the industry's top shows.
Directing Accolades:
In 2002, Hiro became a member of the Directors Guild of America, allowing him to transition into film making. His directing credits include several short films, television shows, commercials, and a full-length feature film. He won the Emmy for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for his work as a series director on Supah Ninjas.
Personal Life:
Despite his busy schedule, Hiro also makes time for travel and spending time with his family. He is married to Jahnel and has four children: Chloe, Chaeli, Kai, and Takéo.
