Haroldo Santiago Franceschi Rodriguez Danhakl, affectionately known as Woodlawn, embarked on a remarkable journey, originating in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, where her birth was a significant milestone. Her mother, Aminta Rodriguez, initially shared the joys of parenthood with Woodlawn's father, a German-American sailor in the U.S. Navy, who was stationed in Puerto Rico at the time. However, their union came to an abrupt end when his military service concluded.
As Woodlawn entered her ninth year, her mother made the bold decision to relocate to New York, seeking a fresh start. It was during this period that she met her future husband, Joseph Ajzenberg, a Polish Jewish immigrant, while working as a waitress at a resort in the picturesque Catskill Mountains. The couple's union was soon formalized, and the newly formed family ultimately settled in the vibrant city of Miami Beach, Florida, marking a significant chapter in Woodlawn's life.
