Howard Culver's illustrious career in radio began during his high school days, when he first stepped onto the airwaves with CBS. As he continued to hone his craft, he went on to work on numerous Hollywood-based radio shows, as well as many productions in San Francisco.
One of his most notable roles was as the star of the popular radio series "Straight Arrow", a show that showcased his impressive acting abilities. Additionally, he shared the screen with the talented Mercedes McCambridge in the radio drama "Defense Attorney".
Culver's transition to television was just as successful, with a wide range of credits to his name. He was a staple of the long-running western series "Gunsmoke", which aired for an impressive 20 years. He also worked regularly with Jack Webb, appearing in several of his productions.
Furthermore, Culver was a favorite of Irwin Allen, the renowned producer and director, and was a part of his regular stable of actors. Unfortunately, Howard Culver's life was cut short in 1984, when he passed away in Hong Kong following a vacation in China.
