Person Biography:
Hu Sang was born near the border between Mongolia and China, where she nurtured her dreams of becoming an actress from a young age of 10. In the year 2000, she and her family relocated to Beijing, where she was admitted to the middle school and later enrolled in the class of song and dance at the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy at the age of 12. After completing her education, she graduated from the Department of Performing Arts at the Central Academy of Drama in 2012.
Early Career:
In 2004, Hu Sang made her film debut in the movie "Flavors of Girlhood" directed by Kang Li, playing a sensitive and melancholy fragrance at the tender age of 16. Although the movie faced several challenges, it was finally released in 2008.
Television and Film Career:
In 2008, she co-starred with Du Fu and Wang Pengkai in the TV series "Hu Dan Xiaoxin" (The Enemy of the Republic of China),playing the role of a 18-year-old female spy agent Liu Chun Tao. The series was completed and released in 2009.
In 2009, Hu Sang starred in the international co-production movie "Last Kung Fu Monk", a martial arts drama about a Shaolin Monk who teaches Kung fu in New York City. She played the role of Mei, a love interest student who becomes a hostage by the Russian Mafia. The movie was released on Chinese National Day in October 2010.
In 2010, she co-starred with Hong Kong actor Matty Cheong in the suspense thriller "Fatal Invitation". Although the movie was initially planned to be a horror film, it was later changed to a crime thriller due to high censorship in China.
Breakthrough Role:
In 2011, Hu Sang gained worldwide recognition for her role in the Chinese fiction war movie "The Resistance". She played the dual role of Xiaoyun, an ordinary girl by day and a black dress killer by night. The movie was nominated and special screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
Television Career:
In 2012, she made her Hong Kong career debut alongside actress Jiajia Deng in the TV series "I:Partment", which lasted for two seasons.
In 2014, she played the noble consort Li in the series "Young Sherlock", a Chinese-Hong Kong co-production.
