Hubertus Bengsch, nephew of Berlin cardinal Bengsch, achieved a breakthrough in 1981 with his role as First Officer in Wolfgang Petersen's blockbuster film, Das Boot. Born in 1952, Hubertus studied at the renowned Max Reinhardt school in Berlin, where he refined his craft alongside future theatrical greats.
Before entering the world of film, Hubertus honed his skills in various stage productions at esteemed theatres in Hannover, Bochum, Berlin, and Salzburg. His impressive range and versatility allowed him to effortlessly transition to television and broadcast productions.
Since the 1990s, Hubertus has become a staple in German dubbing, lending his voice to a plethora of iconic characters, including Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, and notable roles in The X-Files, Full House, and Mission: Impossible.
