Noted Scottish television comedy personality, Billy McColl, who was a household name for over two decades, sadly passed away in 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
During the 1980s and 1990s, McColl rose to national prominence through his impressive performances in popular sitcoms such as 'City Lights' and 'Rab C Nesbitt'.
In addition to his work in television, McColl also landed a significant role in Martin Scorsese's critically acclaimed film 'Gangs of New York'.
Prior to his untimely passing, McColl began documenting the highs and lows of his remarkable career in his autobiography, a project that was unfortunately cut short due to the onset of his illness.
Although McColl was unable to complete the book himself, his sister Martha Brindley, who also served as his devoted carer during his final months, took on the task of bringing his story to life.
Interestingly, McColl personally selected the title for the book, 'McColl of the Wild', which not only chronicles his colorful career but also explores the personal challenges he faced throughout his life.
