Biography

Ilias Milonakos, a Greek film director, was born in Athens in 1941. He pursued his passion for filmmaking by attending the "SvenskFilm Industry" in Stockholm in 1967. Milonakos' early directorial endeavors, which began in the mid-1960s, focused on the corruption of youth, and he has also worked as an assistant director.

His breakthrough film, "Simadi, To," released in 1977, was a significant milestone in his career, as it was distributed worldwide. Following this success, Milonakos directed ten more erotic thrillers, most of which were globally distributed.

One of his most renowned films is "Mavri Emmanouella" (1979),starring the iconic actress Laura Gemser. Interestingly, the film's director, Joe D'Amato, revealed in an interview with Dark Side magazine that he shot additional scenes with Gemser after the film's completion, which were incorporated into the final product.

Milonakos' later work includes the comedies "Agries plakes sta thrania" (1983) and "I gynaikara ap' to Kilkis" (1985),which were major hits in Greek cinemas. He eventually transitioned to producing comedies on video, and has since maintained a low profile, avoiding discussions about his work as a director.

Today, Ilias Milonakos resides in Athens, where he operates his own business, a cafe. Despite his successful career, he prefers to keep his personal and professional life separate.
