Biography

Noted musician and composer, renowned for his versatility and expertise as a pianist, clarinetist, string bassist, and tuba player, closely tied to the esteemed institutions of Columbia, 20th Century-Fox, and Universal studios.

Initially, this talented individual pursued his passion for music at the Providence College of Music, where he honed his skills under the guidance of instructor-author Walter Piston. Subsequently, he began his professional journey at Columbia Studios in 1938, only to interrupt his career to serve in the United States Signal Corps during World War II.

Following his return, he resumed his musical pursuits, engaging in private studies with the illustrious composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Throughout his distinguished career, he made significant contributions to the world of film and television, in addition to composing concert pieces and popular music.
