Isla Lang Fisher was born on February 3, 1976, in Muscat, Oman, to Scottish parents Elspeth Reid and Brian Fisher, a banker for the United Nations. Her early childhood was spent in Bathgate, Scotland, before the family relocated to Perth, Australia in the early 1980s.
From a young age, Isla demonstrated a dual passion for acting and writing. By the time she was nine years old, she was already appearing in Australian television commercials. This early start led to small parts in the Australian television series Bay City in 1993, followed by a bigger role in Paradise Beach the same year.
As her television career progressed, Isla landed a significant part in the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away in 1988. During her time on the show, she continued to nurture her writing skills, publishing two best-selling novels, "Seduced By Fame" and "Bewitched".
Isla's talents didn't go unnoticed, as she was voted #35 on FHM magazine's list of the "100 Sexiest Women in the World" in 1997. She further solidified her status as a sex symbol by placing 26th on the same list in 2003.
In addition to her television work, Isla has appeared in a variety of films, including Wedding Crashers in 2005, The Lookout and Hot Rod in 2007, Definitely, Maybe in 2008, Confessions of a Shopaholic in 2009, and Now You See Me in 2013.
