Itziar, a talented and accomplished individual, was born in Spain and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She is a proud member of the Alliance of Women Directors and the Latin Recording Academy.
Itziar's impressive career in the entertainment industry began with her involvement in the production team that created the multi-platinum award-winning soundtrack for the Disney Channel series Violetta. The show's success was immense, with the soundtrack being translated into 15 languages and selling over 1 million records. The European tour alone saw over 1.2 million tickets sold for 182 shows performed in 12 countries.
As an actress, Itziar has had the opportunity to work on various projects, including HBO's upcoming revival of the classic "Calamity Jane", the series "The Mysterious Benedict Society", "Jane The Virgin", "Louie", and major productions for the Telemundo network.
Itziar's writing and producing credits include her first feature film, which premiered at HBO's NYLFF and received distribution in over 20 territories, including VOD in North America and theatrical releases in Turkey and Japan. Her short films have been screened at numerous international film festivals, including Screamfest, Filmquest, LAshorts, Academy-sponsored NFMLA, and have won several awards, including Best New Director at the Toronto International Women's Film Festival.
Currently, Itziar is developing a bilingual horror/fantasy/drama series, which has been selected for the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival Showrunners Lab and several other prominent screenwriting contests. Her experiences living in different countries and cities, as well as her love for diverse cultures, are reflected in her stories and continue to inspire her as a writer and director.
As a Basque native, Itziar's unique perspective and cultural background have allowed her to bring a fresh and exciting voice to the entertainment industry. With her impressive list of credits and ongoing projects, Itziar is undoubtedly a talent to watch in the years to come.
