Ivan is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG/AFTRA) and the Actors' Equity Association (AEA),as well as a lifetime member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York.
With a lifelong passion for theatre, television, and film, Ivan's love for acting was sparked by his early encounter with Sidney Poitier's iconic performance in "A Raisin in the Sun". His ultimate goal as an actor is to create a lasting body of work that will continue to touch people's lives, much like the movie touched his own.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ivan's parents hail from Georgetown, Guyana, which has instilled in him a deep appreciation for all things Caribbean.
Throughout his studies, Ivan has had the privilege of learning from some of the most renowned artists and teachers in the industry. His academic journey has taken him from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts to the City University of New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting and theatre. He has also had the opportunity to study under the guidance of esteemed instructors, including Bill Esper at the William Esper Studio.
To maintain his edge, Ivan continues to receive coaching from New York-based acting coach Rob McCaskill.
Ivan has been fortunate enough to share the screen with talented individuals such as James Spader, Kevin Bacon, Halle Bailey, Colman Domingo, and many more.
