Ivan Panev was born in 1967 in the city of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, and has since 1992 been residing and working in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, as a professional film and theatre actor and director.
Ivan Panev is a renowned figure in the Bulgarian entertainment industry, having gained widespread recognition for his numerous roles in movies and TV films, as well as his appearances in Bulgarian television series.
He has had a prolific career, with performances on the stage of the Theater of Satire and the National Music Theater in Sofia, and is a part-time professor at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, where he also defended a doctorate in the field of musical cinema.
Ivan Panev made his professional debut as a director and screenwriter with the film "Foreigner" (2007, 30 min),which was his graduation thesis. This was followed by his professional debut with the television film "The Brother of the Snail" (54 min., BNT 2009),which was selected in the official program of the "Prix Europa" festival in Berlin in October 2009.
"The Brother of the Snail" won an award for directorial debut at the "Korona Karpat" festival, held in Truskavets, Ukraine from January 10 to 15, 2010, and received six nominations and three awards from the Bulgarian Film Academy in 2010.
Throughout his career, Ivan Panev has continued to impress audiences with his work, and remains a prominent figure in the Bulgarian entertainment industry.
