Welsh-born character actor, renowned for his impressive range of dialects, accents, and ethnic impersonations, began his professional journey by training for two years at Hampstead Studios. He made his stage debut in 1972, playing the role of Seyton, Macbeth's servant, in a production of Macbeth on the London stage. This marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in the West End, where he went on to perform in a wide range of classic plays, including School for Scandal, The Comedy of Errors, and Edward III.
Chissick's theatrical credits also include memorable roles in musicals, such as Jack the Ripper, Little Shop of Horrors, Gypsy, and Travels With My Aunt, where he portrayed characters like Slop Wallace, Mr. Mushnik, Mr. Goldstone, and Mr. Visconti.
On screen, Chissick's acting career spans over six decades, with his first appearance dating back to 1958. He has been well-cast in a variety of roles, often playing blue-collar types, including workmen, shop owners, low-level civil servants, drivers, and barkeeps.
