Jack Holmes is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as an actor, published playwright, screenwriter, composer, and pianist. Born with a passion for the arts, Jack pursued his dreams by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film/Drama from the California College of the Arts. His education continued at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the guidance of renowned teacher and composer Stanley Wolfe.
As a screenwriter, Jack has written for the independent feature film "Live at the Foxes Den" (2013),which he also starred in as the lead role of Chad Barrows, an alcoholic cocktail lounge pianist. The film, which was shot in Los Angeles during the summer of 2011, features an impressive cast, including Jackson Rathbone, Jocelin Donahue, Carly Craig, Caity Lotz, Elliott Gould, and Pooch Hall.
In addition to his work in film, Jack has also made a name for himself on the stage. He is the author of the solo play "RFK," in which he portrayed the late Robert F. Kennedy. Jack's performance in the play earned him numerous accolades, including a nomination by The Outer Critics Circle for Outstanding Solo Performance, as well as a nomination by the Drama League for Distinguished Performance. His performance was also recognized by New York's Backstage Magazine, which named it one of the "Best Performances of 2005" in New York theater.
As a composer and pianist, Jack has written and orchestrated the score to "Live at the Foxes Den" (2013),as well as three original songs that are featured in the film. Jack plays the piano on all of the songs in the movie, except for "Let's Take A Trip," which features the late Austin Peralta on piano.
The soundtrack to "Live at the Foxes Den" (2013) was released in December 2013 on Lakeshore Records and features the late Austin Peralta, who was a brilliant jazz pianist and the son of filmmaker Stacy Peralta. The soundtrack also includes the orchestral score to the film, which was composed by Jack.
In addition to his work on "Live at the Foxes Den," Jack has also appeared in the film "Cesar Chavez" (2014),directed by Diego Luna and starring Michael Peña, Rosario Dawson, America Ferrera, John Malkovich, and Wes Bentley.
