Jack's illustrious acting career spanned an impressive sixty-plus years, commencing at the tender age of twelve when he joined Churchills Minstrels in The Happy Valley, Llandudno, where he initially took on children's roles.
Subsequently, Jack spent a considerable amount of time with Leslie Henson's company, where he had the opportunity to hone his craft and gain valuable experience.
Throughout his extensive career, Jack appeared in a staggering eighteen films and over one hundred television programmes, including the inaugural production from Granada Television.
It was in 1960 that Jack took on the iconic role of Albert Tatlock in the esteemed British soap opera, Coronation Street, a character he would portray with great distinction, commencing on December 9th of that year.
In his personal life, Jack was married to the lovely Betty, and together they had a son named John.
