Jack Lyon was one of the final remaining individuals who played a role in the massive prison break known as "The Great Escape" from Stalag Luft III, a prisoner of war internment camp, which took place in March 1944.
He functioned as a lookout during this notable escape attempt, despite the fact that the tunnel used for the escape was discovered before he had the opportunity to make his own escape.
Sadly, Jack Lyon passed away at the age of 101 on March 8, 2019.
