Jack Rooney, a native of Hammond, Indiana, was born to an Indiana Ironworker, who instilled in him a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Growing up in Terre Haute, Indiana, Jack's formative years were marked by a sense of community and a deep connection to his Midwestern roots.
Following his military service in the US Army, Jack returned to Terre Haute and enrolled at Indiana State University, where he majored in Philosophy and English. His academic pursuits laid the groundwork for his future success, as he honed his critical thinking skills and developed a passion for storytelling.
In 1976, Jack took his talents to Northern Arizona University, where he pursued a graduate degree in English/Creative writing and American Literature. This intellectual journey not only deepened his understanding of the written word but also prepared him for the demands of the film industry.
Upon completing his graduate studies, Jack returned to Indiana, eager to apply his knowledge and skills to the world of filmmaking. With a strong educational background and an impressive work ethic, Jack quickly made a name for himself as a crewmember and bit-part player in notable productions such as "Natural Born Killers", "The Negotiator", "I Love Trouble", "Blue Chips", "Rudy", and the critically acclaimed television series, "The Untouchables".
As Jack's experience and expertise grew, so did his role in the industry. He transitioned seamlessly into the positions of Writer/Director/Actor, starring in and directing numerous feature motion pictures, including "Deadly Discovery", "Our Burden Is Light", and the classic film, "Pushed Too Far" starring the late Claude Akins.
Today, Jack Rooney resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he continues to draw inspiration from his Midwestern upbringing and his extensive experience in the entertainment industry.
