Jackeline Olivier, a talented actress from Porto Alegre, Brazil, has defied conventional casting norms by playing a wide range of ethnicities beyond her own Latina heritage. Her passion for acting was sparked at a young age, when she played a grieving widow in a school play at just ten years old. The moving performance earned her encouragement from teachers, classmates, and family to pursue a career in acting.
Since then, Jackie has appeared in an impressive array of projects, including 13 films, numerous television shows, and ten plays. Her extensive body of work has solidified her reputation as a dedicated and fearless artist. In the 2005 horror film "Day of the Dead 2: Contagium", directed by James Glenn Dudelson and Ana Clavell, Jackie brought to life the complex character of Vicky, describing her as "a self-centered, evil, cunning junkie".
Jackie's death scene in "Contagium" was particularly challenging, as it involved a prolonged period of stillness and immobility, with her character's body being used as a prop in a chaotic and intense scene. Despite the physical demands of the role, Jackie's team player mentality and ability to appreciate the efforts of others have earned her a reputation as a consummate professional.
In addition to her film and television work, Jackie has also appeared in several stage productions, including "The Dream of Alvareen" (2009),directed by Alexander Lehr, "Boppin' at the Glue Factory" (2009),directed by Jeff Orgill, and "Apartment 6" (2006),directed by John Pietros. Her fearlessness and willingness to take risks have allowed her to tackle complex and broken characters, refusing to be pigeonholed into stereotypical roles.
As a workaholic who creates her own projects and thrives on the challenges of live theatre, Jackie has received rave reviews for her performances. Her Equity-waiver ensemble production of "Pilgrims of the Night" at the Stella Adler Theatre was a particular highlight, involving 14 onstage wardrobe changes, 120 lighting cues, 70 sound cues, and 30 video cues. Jackie not only performed in the production but also helped to produce it, painted the flats, and created her own wardrobe.
A member of the Filmmakers Alliance and The Creative Actos Alliance, Jackie is never one to sit still, always seeking out new challenges and opportunities to grow as an artist.
