Charrier's personal life has been marked by three marriages. His first marriage was to the iconic film actress Brigitte Bardot, whom he wed in 1959 and divorced in 1963. This union produced a son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. His second marriage was to France Louis-Dreyfus, a member of the prestigious Louis-Dreyfus family, whom he married in 1964 and divorced in 1967. This marriage resulted in the birth of two daughters, Sophie and Marie.

In 1982, Charrier married his third wife, Linda, with whom he had a daughter, Rosalie. Since 2009, he has been married to Japanese artist Makiko Kumano.
