Louisiana-native Jade Johnson, aka Jade de Lafleur, embarked on a lifelong journey in music and entertainment at the tender age of five, sparked by her mother's introduction to the enchanting melodies of Whitney Houston. As she grew, Jade's passion for performing only intensified, and she soon found herself joining the local church youth choir, where she would go on to become a soloist, honing her craft alongside her mother, a talented soloist with the church choir.
Jade's professional music career received a significant boost when she signed with J Records, under the guidance of the legendary Clive Davis, as a member of the girl group Sophia Fresh. Concurrently, she pursued her academic interests at Prairie View A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications.
Jade's impressive resume continued to grow as she toured internationally as a Background Singer/Dancer for the talented Solange Knowles. Her debut release, the critically acclaimed EP Jaded, featured the standout tracks "Smoking In My Car," a collaborative effort with esteemed songwriter James Fauntleroy, and the title track, which was prominently featured on Solange's Saint Heron compilation album, garnering widespread acclaim from notable media outlets.
Beyond her musical pursuits, Jade has also made a name for herself in the world of theatre, originally taking on the role of "Miss Mississippi" in the acclaimed play P Valley, and more recently co-starring in Marvel's Luke Cage. As a triple threat virtuoso, Jade is undoubtedly on a fantastic voyage, continuously pushing the boundaries of her talent and inspiring audiences along the way.
