James Aston Lake was born and raised in Birmingham, England, and later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002, where he honed his craft by training with the esteemed Second City Improv Troupe, Theatre with Gerald Gordon, and Voice Over with Alice Whitfield. This formative experience has been instrumental in his growth as a performer.
In 2013, he made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California, and dedicate himself to a full-time acting career. With a renewed focus on film acting, James has been training under the tutelage of renowned coach Ryan R. Williams, who was voted the best "On-Camera Film Acting Coach" by Backstage Magazine in 2014. Ryan has also had the privilege of casting James in several projects, including the upcoming TV show "Sketchy".
During his time in Los Angeles, James has shared the screen with the illustrious Kevin Hart on the popular show "Real Husbands of Hollywood", and has made guest appearances in the pilots "Palasades Justice" and "Shadow". He has also had the opportunity to work on numerous feature films, including "Red Man", "Holding Lucid", and "Where the Devil Dwells". This year, James took on the exciting challenge of performing stunts in principal roles on the upcoming feature films "Enigma" and "Drone Wars".
In 2014, James demonstrated his versatility by directing and filming the comedy webseries "The Aaron and Brian show", as well as performing all post-production duties, including editing and visual effects.
Beyond his acting pursuits, James has also developed skills in sound editing and has launched an EDM podcast under the pseudonym "D4rk Valhalla" on SoundCloud.
