Biography

James Buchanan is a multifaceted creative professional, occupying the roles of writer, director, and producer, and hailing from the culturally rich city of Glasgow, Scotland. His impressive filmography boasts a diverse array of projects, including Soapdodgers (2002),Autumn Leaves (2014),and The World We Knew (2020).

Prior to his successful career, Buchanan began his journey in Scotland, crafting shorts and features before enrolling in film school in Surrey, England, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production.

Notably, his graduation short, 'Soapdodgers' (2002),received the prestigious Best Short Film Drama award at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in 2004.

Subsequently, Buchanan relocated to London, where he honed his skills as a freelance music video director, concurrently working as an assistant director on various film and video projects, including collaborations with the National Film & Television School.

Throughout his career, Buchanan has also directed live television and internet-based shows, in addition to writing and directing his own short films.

Currently, he is in development for his feature film debut, The Last Jacobite, which promises to be an exciting new chapter in his already impressive career.
