James Furey was born and raised in a small town in the Mid-Ohio Valley, where he developed a passion for film and entertainment at a young age. Despite his true calling, he initially pursued sports, feeling like he belonged elsewhere. His love for football led him to college, where he walked on to the University of South Carolina football team under the guidance of legendary coach Lou Holtz.
James impressed early in his initial tryouts with his natural speed and athleticism, earning a roster spot on the team. As he progressed, he eventually earned his degree in Media Arts, but soon found himself pursuing sports again. He attended an open tryout with a Georgia-based Arena Football team (AFL),where he impressed with his speed and athleticism, earning an invitation to training camp that same year.
However, a torn plantar fascia tendon during training camp would eventually put an end to his athletic career. Undeterred, James looked at this door closing as an opportunity to open another door, his true passion for entertaining. He realized his next step was to approach training himself in the acting craft, much like he had trained himself athletically in the past.
Over the next few years, James trained his mind, body, and acting instrument to be the best he could be, attending countless acting classes and personal coaching sessions to sharpen his craft. He eventually attended his first audition for a film titled "Survival," landing the role of Greg. During the filming of "Survival," James was finally able to reunite with his inner actor and has never looked back since.
Through his years of athletic, martial arts, stage combat, and acting training, James feels he brings an arsenal of abilities and attributes to a film. He prides himself in his ability to adapt and adjust to any role he may tackle, having taken on roles in comedy, drama, action, and horror.
James's enjoyment and success haven't been limited to just acting. He has also found great pleasure in producing two films and writing. Whatever his future holds in this business, James feels he is finally walking down the entertainment path he was meant to follow, and feels a sense of inner peace working in the industry of his one true passion in life.
James believes that his hard work, dedication, commitment to excellence, and overall positive demeanor will continue to push him to new heights as he progresses his career forward.
