Born in the vibrant city of Rochester, within the state of New York, this individual spent their formative years in the quaint town of Spencerport, a place that would play a significant role in shaping their early life. It is worth noting that their very first word, "Batman", was an auspicious beginning that would go on to spark a lifelong fascination with the world of comic books and superheroes, ultimately inspiring a desire to become a writer and artist. Initially drawn to the world of movies, it wasn't until they reached high school that their interest in film truly took off, as they discovered the innovative and groundbreaking works of renowned directors such as Lina Wertmüller, Werner Herzog, and Peter Greenaway. This newfound appreciation for the art of cinema subsequently redirected their focus away from comic books and towards the world of filmmaking.
Prior to relocating to the City of Angels, he had amassed a wealth of experience within the film industry by contributing to a diverse array of projects, encompassing commercials, student short films, professional short films, and two feature films, in addition to serving as a valuable team member at the Rochester/Finger Lakes Film & Video Office.
Just before the commercial actors' strike, he made the pivotal decision to transition to Los Angeles, where he continued to refine his craft by working on feature films and commercials. Since then, he has devoted himself to the art of writing, allowing his creative voice to flourish.
Notably, the individual in question boasts a familial connection to a highly accomplished musician, namely Jeff Mercel, with whom he shares a sibling bond, as the former is his older sibling.
