James Norgard's journey in acting began in his high school days, where he discovered his passion for the craft through community theater in Albert Lea, MN. However, life had other plans, and he put his acting dreams on hold until his early 50's, when he was cast as an extra in a local Twin Cities feature film "Midnight Chronicles".
After "Midnight Chronicles", Norgard appeared in several short films and "film race" projects. His big break came in 2010 when he received national exposure playing a hunter in "The Lizard Monster" episode of the History's Channel's Monster Quest.
Norgard's career continued to flourish, with appearances in four DVD feature films in 2011: "After the Dawn", "Gehenna", "Lambent Fuse", and "Attack of the Moon Zombies". His collaborations with Christopher R. Mihm, a fellow filmmaker, led to the creation of several films, including "House of Ghosts" (2012),"The Giant Spider" (2013),and "The Devil's Hour" (2013).
In 2014, Norgard reprised his role as Dr. Gabriel in "The Wall People", the second half of "The Late Night Double Feature". He continued to work with Mihm, appearing in "Danny Johnson Saves the World" (2015) as "Grandpa", and then taking on the role of Dr. Schramm, an evil Nazi scientist, in "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" (2016).
Norgard's career took a new direction in 2017 when he played Dr. Gabriel in Mihm's epic "Demon With The Atomic Brain". He then portrayed The Governor in "Guns of the Apocalypse" (2018),which he also associate produced. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his acting career was put on pause until his return as Dr. Gabriel in Mihm's 2022 release "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us".
