Jamie Zubairi was born in Aldershot, United Kingdom, but his formative years were spent in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he developed a unique cultural perspective that would later influence his diverse range of characters and roles.
He pursued his passion for theatre by studying at the renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA),and shortly after, he began working in London's thriving theatre scene.
In addition to his successful career in theatre, Zubairi is also a talented painter, having honed his skills at De Montfort University. His artistic talents were recently showcased in Chrissie Hynde's music video for "Adding The Blue", where he played the role of a painter.
Zubairi's mixed-race heritage has granted him the ability to play a wide range of characters and races, including Malay, English, Spanish, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Chinese, allowing him to bring a unique depth and authenticity to his performances.
In 2012, Zubairi wrote, produced, and performed in his first solo show, "Unbroken Line", a testament to his multifaceted talents. Two years later, he co-wrote, co-produced, and performed in the 2-hander "Expectations", and also featured as Max in Russell T Davies' critically acclaimed series "Cucumber".
In 2017, Zubairi made his feature film debut as a screenwriter and actor in "Tides", which premiered at the prestigious BFI London Film Festival, marking a significant milestone in his career.
