Jamielyn Lippman's fascination with filmmaking and storytelling dates back to her childhood. Growing up in Valencia, California, she began performing in nationally televised commercials and local theater at the tender age of seven. After completing high school, Lippman made the bold decision to head to Hollywood to pursue her dreams.
Her first appearance on the big screen was in the critically acclaimed film "Boogie Nights" alongside legendary talent Burt Reynolds, Oscar winners Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Lippman also made guest appearances in popular TV shows such as "The Drew Carey Show" and numerous independent films. Her passion for filmmaking eventually evolved into a desire to take on a more behind-the-scenes role.
In 2001, Lippman enrolled in the well-known film program at LACC, where she honed her skills and developed her craft. Following the completion of her film school training, Lippman spent the next few years writing, directing, and producing dozens of short films, as well as penning numerous feature-length screenplays.
In 2006, Lippman made her directorial debut with the feature-length documentary "Die Trying", which explored the unwavering determination to succeed in Hollywood and featured a talented cast including Amanda Fuller, Michael Biehn, and scream queen Danielle Harris.
Lippman's subsequent documentary, "When The Bough Breaks", delved into the often-stigmatized topics of postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. The film, which is Executive Produced and Narrated by Brooke Shields, is a production of Point Of View Pictures, a company owned and operated by Lippman.
Point Of View Pictures has acquired the rights to several true-life stories, which are currently being developed into features and documentaries. Lippman is currently directing and producing the documentary "3 Years in Pakistan: The Erik Aude Story", which chronicles the life-changing journey of an actor who was duped into drug smuggling and spent three years in the most dangerous prison in Pakistan. She is also developing a feature-length film based on the same story, titled "The Price of Pride".
In addition to her work in the film industry, Lippman is an active member of Women In Film, IFP, and Film Independent. She currently resides in Sherman Oaks, California with her husband and two daughters.
