Jamison Jones was born in Rochester, Michigan. He spent several years abroad, attending the Frankfurt International School in Germany, before returning to Michigan for his high school years at Rochester Adams High School, where he began acting.
He was accepted with a scholarship to the acting program at Western Michigan University, later transferring to the University of Southern California Los Angeles (UCLA) and finishing his BA at California State University; Fullerton. During his summers, he performed with a professional acting company outside San Francisco, where he was invited to perform two world premiere plays at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
Upon his return from Scotland, he moved to San Francisco to attend the world-renowned Advanced Training Program at the American Conservatory Theater. After graduating with an MFA in Theater Arts, Jones was invited into ACT's professional acting company, where he worked on several critical successes.
