Jane Alison Sherman, born in the charming Welsh seaside town of Aberystwyth, embarked on a remarkable performing career in the early 1980s, initially exploring the realms of physical theatre and dance.
She then pursued her passion at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she honed her craft and later worked extensively with the North Dyfed Dance company in West Wales.
In 1990, Jane made the move to Bath, where she joined the esteemed comedy improvisation company More Fool Us, alongside the talented Rob Brydon, Ruth Jones, and Julia Davis.
During this period, she began a prolific writing partnership with Julia Davis, collaborating on the creation of the Sisters of Percy, a two-woman comedy character stage show.
Jane's writing talents continued to flourish, as she contributed to the popular series Nighty Night, bringing to life the long-suffering character Cath Cole, and also worked on Sally4Ever and other projects with Julia Davis.
Throughout her illustrious career, Jane has established herself as a master of character acting, appearing in numerous sitcoms, including Intelligence, Sally4Ever, Hunderby, Nighty Night, and Human Remains.
In addition to her television work, Jane has also made a mark in the film world, taking on the roles of the monstrous matron in Slaughterhouse Rulez and Sheena in A Fantastic Fear Of Everything.
As a singer-songwriter, Jane goes by the name Jane Allison, and has released three albums with producer Alonza Bevan (Kula Shaker),with her band still performing live to this day.
