Jason Riley Hoss was born on March 16, 1977, in Garden City, Michigan, to hardworking parents who later relocated the family to Louisiana and then Texas when Jason was just five years old.
As an only child, Jason was an above-average student who discovered his passion for film at an early age, inspired by iconic movies like The Terminator (1984) and Aliens (1986). He was captivated by the visual effects and imagery, knowing that he wanted to work in the film industry someday.
Jason's academic career was marked by his exceptional performance in baseball, playing various positions including catcher, short stop, and pitcher throughout his schooling. However, he never pursued acting classes or joined any theatre groups, focusing solely on baseball.
It wasn't until his junior year of high school that Jason realized baseball wasn't his calling, and he began to explore alternative paths. After graduating from Marshall High School in 1995, Jason attended Kilgore Junior College for one and a half semesters before dropping out and enlisting in the US Army.
Jason served for three years, including a tour of duty in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and was honorably discharged in 1999. Shortly after his discharge, he co-founded an independent film company in Indiana with a close friend. However, after just three months, Jason felt unprepared for the industry and left Indiana to pursue further education and support his film aspirations.
Jason transferred to Texas State Technical College in Marshall, Texas, where he maintained a 4.0 average, became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Telecommunication Technology in 2002.
Following his graduation, Jason moved to Dallas, Texas, and began working in the wireless repair industry. Simultaneously, he attended the KD Studio Actors Conservatory to study acting for film and television, promoting himself as an actor for hire.
Jason's big break came when he was asked to co-star in the 2007 feature film, "The Lawless", marking his debut as an actor and producer.
