Jay Dee Bentley, the esteemed bassist of the iconic punk rock band Bad Religion, was born on June 6th, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas. Subsequently, his family relocated to the San Fernando Valley, where he attended El Camino High School alongside future bandmates Greg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz.
Initially, Bentley was an integral part of Bad Religion, but in 1984, he made the decision to leave the band. He embarked on a new career path, working as a machinist, responsible for fabricating parts for airplanes and space shuttles. However, his stint in this profession was short-lived, as he soon realized his true passion lay in music. When Greg Graffin extended an invitation for Bentley to rejoin Bad Religion in 1986, he agreed to perform at a single show, and has since remained a devoted member of the band for an impressive twenty-one years.
In his personal life, Bentley resides in Southern California with his loving wife, Natalia Fabia, and their daughter. He is also the proud father of two sons, Miles and Hunter. As of August 2007, Bentley's life continued to unfold, marked by his enduring dedication to his craft and his role as a vital component of Bad Religion.
