Jayabharathi is a renowned Indian actress who has achieved immense recognition and acclaim within the Indian film industry, having received not one, but two prestigious Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actress, as well as a National Film Award by Special Jury Award - Special Mention.
It all began with her first leading role, expertly assigned to her by the visionary director P. Bhaskaran, in his 1969 cinematic masterpiece, Kattukurangu, which marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in Indian cinema.
